Free Trial Offers May be a Great Deal for You
Especially these days, people are cautious about signing up for things and giving personal information, and rightfully so. Identity theft is rampant out there and scams abound. However, this does not mean that you should steer clear of free trial offers from reputable merchants.
A free trial offer or try-before-you-buy offer allows you, the customer, to try a product or service with no strings attached (except sometimes for shipping/handling charges). Remember, it usually takes years for these companies to establish their reputation for providing good products and excellent customer service. These companies have their reputation on the line, and want to provide you, the buyer, with a pleasant experience. A free trial is just another legitimate way of marketing to help gaurantee your satisfaction.
If the product is not for you, that's OK. Maybe you'll just pay the cost of shipping (sometimes the merchant company pays this too). Naturally, the company is banking on the fact that you will like the product or service so much that you will want to continue with it.
But please be a good consumer and understand the fine print before you sign-up. Know the length of your trial, the cancellation provisions, and how much and when an amount will be charged to your credit card. If you take on a free trial offer with your eyes open, you will have a pleasant experience and very likely continue with the product or service.
